Our Practice
Welcome to Tender Touch Veterinary Hospital, your friendly neighborhood animal hospital. We're proud to have been serving pet owners in the Scarborough area since 2008.
You can count on our team to provide you and your furry companion with exceptional customer service and high-quality medical care. Our goal is to help your pet live a long, healthy, and happy life. To create the most comfortable experience possible, our team has completed extensive training and became a Fear Free Certified Practice in 2022, making us one of the first in Maine to achieve this distinction. Since then, we have continued to elevate our standards of care.
In 2025, we earned accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), as well as Clear BluePrint NOMV Certification. These recognitions reflect our commitment to the highest standards of medical care and to fostering a mentally healthy workplace for our team.
In 2026, we were also approved as a Gold-Level Cat Friendly Certified Practice by the Feline Veterinary Medical Association, further demonstrating our dedication to species-specific care.
Our team works hard to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress at every visit. When pets feel safe and comfortable, it becomes easier to provide the care they need and to build a stronger bond between our team, our patients, and their families. Creating that positive experience is just as important to us as it is to you.

Fun Facts
Outside of medicine, our team enjoys staying connected through our lighthearted “ADR Ain’t Done Reading Book Club,” where we share great book recommendations in a relaxed, low-pressure setting.
We are also proud to care for two long-term foster tortoises, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Harriet Tubman. Both are around 20 years old and have been part of our hospital family for approximately four years.
Our dedication to our patients and community has also been recognized locally. We were honored to receive Best of the 207 Bronze in 2023 and 2024, and Best of the 207 Silver in 2025.
